World of Riddles
Solve riddles from anywhere in the world — or riddles pinned to a real place, playable only when you are standing there. No account needed to start playing.
About the game
World of Riddles is a riddle game for Android. Every riddle in it was written by another player. Some are global — open to anyone, anywhere. Others are bespoke to a geotagged location and unlock only when your phone says you have actually arrived, which turns a walk across a city into a route between puzzles.
You can start solving straight away, timed riddles included, without an account. Sign in with Google and you can write riddles and pin locations of your own. Players rate what they solve on clarity, enjoyment and difficulty, favourite the riddles, places and creators they like, and build a contributor reputation out of how many of their riddles survive community rating. Riddles that nobody rates well are retired; riddles that break the rules are voted out by the players themselves.
Some riddles are played against the clock: multiple choice, with a countdown the server keeps rather than the phone, so closing the app does not stop it. Others ask you to type the answer. A riddle can also come in up to eight parts, played in order and solved only when every part is.
Riddles with an address
Locations are real places a real person can reach. Their riddles wait there for whoever turns up.
Written by players
Fourteen tags, optional images, hints that cost you something, and answers you choose to accept.
Rated by players
Clarity, enjoyment and difficulty. Difficulty describes a riddle; it never counts against it.
Against the clock
Timed riddles run from ten seconds to twenty-four hours, on the server's clock, not your phone's.
Moderated by players
Anyone can report; the community votes. Reporters are never named to the person they reported.
Nothing to buy
No adverts, no purchases, no feature behind a payment. Ko-fi is there for anyone who wants it.
The rules, and what happens to what you post
The same three documents the app carries in its Settings screen, so you can read them before you install anything.
Code of Conduct
Advice between players on making the game good — how to write a riddle worth solving, how to rate and report fairly, and where to pin a location.
Content Policy
The conditions of using the app: what you may post, what is never allowed, other people's faces and details, and what enforcement actually does.
Privacy Policy
What is collected, who can see it, how long it is kept, which third parties are involved, and how to delete your account and everything in it.
